Increase in November Home Sales Sets Record for Baltimore Region!
Homeowners sold 77 percent more homes in the Baltimore metro area last month than they did a year earlier, by far the biggest increase since Metropolitan Regional Information Systems began tracking the region in the late 1990s.
The first-time home buyer credit of up to $8,000 was originally set to expire after Nov. 30, and real estate agents said many deals were scheduled to close last month as buyers rushed to get in under the deadline. The credit has since been extended into next year and expanded, with some current homeowners eligible for up to $6,500 if they buy a new primary residence.
