Credit Repair

We know how frustrating it can be to get help restoring your credit score.  There are numerous “companies” out there that will take your hard-earned money and do little with regards to getting your credit to a mortgage lendable score.  There are countless ads advertising so-called credit repair services everywhere.

Who Can You Trust?

We’ve done a lot of research.  We found two companies that have stood out among the rest.  Both are comparable in their scope of services in our opinion, but have slightly different billing structures.  Since you know your budget best, we’ll share with you the information on both companies that lead us to put them on our list of referred companies.  The two companies are:

Clean Slate Credit Services

and Lexington Law

Clean Slate Credit Services Highlights:

  • 640 FICO® score or your Money Back Guarantee – “If your score does not rise to a 640 or better while you are enrolled in our program, we refund your money, no questions asked.”  Most of their clients get to 640 within 4 to 6 months.
  • Primarily focused on qualifying for a mortgage, not just raising your credit score in general.
  • Strong focus on not just eliminating negative credit, but building positive credit.  Also provide you with resources.
  • Tons of FREE Credit Repair Information including education, practical advice and useful tools on a very user friendly site with direct links to valuable credit building resources.
  • Your fee is capped at either $700.00 if you pay for it all up front OR $796.00 if you pay in 4 monthly installments of $199.00 each.
  • There is also a $200.00 discount for each additional family member enrolled.

Lexington Law Highlights:

  • Several reputable review companies consistently rank this company #1 in the nation for credit repair services.
  • Dedicated 800# just for our rent-to-own clients: 1-855-255-0110.
  • Doesn’t charge you until work has been done:  $99.95 first charge usually within 5-6 days after you sign up.  Depending on which plan you go with, each following month you are billed either $59.95, $79.95 or $99.95 per month.  If you use their services for 12 months with the $59.95 plan, your total cost would be $759.40 for the year.  For the $79.95/mo plan the total cost for a year would be $979.40.  There’s a potential for being billed more should your repair work need to continue beyond 12 months.
  • There is a couple’s discount if you both enroll at the same time.  Your spouse will receive a $50 discount off the first-work fee when you and your spouse sign up for service.  Please note: do NOT enroll or sign up for their services until you are ready to pay the $99.95 within the next 5-6 days.

VERY Important Note: Lexington Law “solely monitors your…TransRisk credit score, created and provided by TransUnion.  Although the TransRisk credit score may provide a good measurement of credit score improvement and credit ranking, it should not be interpreted as a FICO® credit score or as the only factor in determining if [you] are eligible for credit. The relational formula provided is for comparison only. The TransUnion TransRisk credit score 3.0 ranges from 150 – 950. The FICO® score ranges from 300 – 850.   It’s important to remember that while the two scores may correlate, they don’t predict each other exactly. For that reason, your…FICO® score may not be similar [to the score provided by Lexington Law] if you were to access them today.” ***Therefore*** We have our clients who choose Lexington Law to have their target score be 750 to hopefully bring it in closer alignment to the minimum 640  FICO® score goal that the lending industry uses.  In other words, your minimum target score to increase your credit score is 750 with Lexington Law, not 640.  This of course is not a guarantee that a 750 Lexington Law/TransRisk score will equal a 640 FICO® score.
